Neuquén Province Provides Free HPV Tests for 68,000 Women
The Instituto de Seguridad Social del Neuquén (ISSN) will cover 100% of the HPV test for more than 68,000 female affiliates aged 30 to 64, eliminating the previous 20% co‑payment. The measure, approved by the ISSN board and jointly promoted by the provincial health ministry, is part of a broader strategy to prevent cervical cancer and aligns with the province's prioritized care lines.
In parallel, the Hospital Schestakow, the San Rafael health area and the Directorate of Schools have launched a free‑testing campaign in local schools. Targeting women aged 30 to 65, as well as school staff, the initiative will run at several schools from late July to mid‑August, offering rapid HPV screening to detect the virus early and reduce cervical‑cancer risk.
