Neuquén and Argentina sign infrastructure and housing agreements
Neuquén Governor Rolando Figueroa and Argentine Economy Minister Luis Caputo have signed several agreements to advance strategic infrastructure projects in the province.
A key component of the deal involves the construction of a spillway canal at the Portezuelo Grande dam to enhance water management and safety for the Vaca Muerta region. This project follows a judicial mandate requiring the national government to ensure the dam's security against extraordinary flooding.
Additionally, the province will assume full management of several national road sections, including the Seven Lakes route on National Route 40 and the Villa La Angostura bypass. This transfer aims to allow for more autonomous maintenance and improvements of these vital tourist and transit corridors.
In terms of housing, the agreements facilitate the completion of 140 previously stalled Procrear housing units in Centenario. The collaboration between the national and provincial governments is intended to support the region's rapid demographic and productive growth driven by the energy sector.
