Neuquén releases fishing permits for 2026-2027 season

The Provincial Directorate of Fauna of Neuquén has announced that fishing permits for the 2026-2027 sport fishing season are now available for purchase. The season is scheduled to begin on November 1 in the Patagonia region.

While the season generally lasts for one year, specific environments such as certain rivers and lagoons will see the season conclude on May 1, 2027. Provincial Fauna Director Nicolás Lagos advised enthusiasts to familiarize themselves with current regulations to prevent fines.

Permits can be obtained via the official Neuquén Hunting and Fishing website, which features an interactive chatbot to assist with specific area regulations. The province offers various fishing modalities, including spinning, trolling, and fly casting, across the Limay and Neuquén river basins. Popular species in these waters include rainbow trout, brown trout, stream trout, and closed salmon.
