Agmer and Buenos Aires unions demand urgent salary and healthcare updates

In Entre Ríos, the teachers' union Agmer met with the president of the Social Work of Entre Ríos (OSER), Mariano Gallegos, to demand urgent solutions for delays in delivering medications, particularly for oncology and chronic patients. The union also raised concerns regarding reimbursement delays, the increase of the Voluntary Fund, and the enforcement of the 'Anti Plus' law to prevent unauthorized professional fees. Agmer noted that the lack of salary improvements for workers directly impacts the financing of the social work organization.

In the Province of Buenos Aires, the government of Axel Kicillof has called for new collective bargaining sessions (paritarias) with state and teaching unions for Friday, October 16. This follows weeks of tension and previous meetings where no concrete salary increase proposals were presented. Unions, including ATE and FEGEPPBA, are pressuring for an immediate update to combat the loss of purchasing power caused by inflation.

A critical factor in these negotiations is the payroll deadline; if an agreement is not reached quickly, workers may face a second consecutive month without salary increases. Some unions have already announced strikes in coordination with the Federal University March to protest the lack of progress.
