Neuquén tourism exceeds $185 billion in winter season consumption

Neuquén province recorded a strong winter tourism season between June 29 and August 23, welcoming 193,456 tourists. This influx generated an estimated economic impact exceeding $185 billion in consumption.

Data from the Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources indicates that accumulated occupancy rose six percentage points compared to the same period last year. The peak of the season occurred during the week of July 20 to July 26, when occupancy reached 63%. During the final week of the reported period (August 17 to August 23), snow-related destinations saw a 51% occupancy rate, which was nine points higher than the previous year.

In terms of infrastructure and connectivity, the Aviador Carlos Campos Airport in Chapelco handled 61,447 passengers through commercial and private flights. Between July 1 and August 24, the airport recorded 624 total aerial operations. Minister Leticia Esteves stated that the government is focused on improving routes, services, and infrastructure to support continued private investment and tourism growth.
