Neura Robotics and NXAI partner to develop robotic memory
German robotics unicorn Neura Robotics and Austrian AI startup NXAI have announced a partnership aimed at providing robots with advanced memory capabilities. The collaboration combines Neura’s AI platform with NXAI’s xLSTM architecture to create a memory component for the Neuron AI model.
This new component is designed to process 3D images, touch, sound, and language, allowing robots to maintain a working memory of tasks—such as tracking whether a component has been installed—and an episodic memory to learn from previous experiences. Additionally, NXAI plans to offer its own xLSTM-based models on the Neuraverse platform, where companies can train and test AI for specific industrial tasks.
NXAI is led by Sepp Hochreiter, a professor at Johannes Kepler University Linz, who co-developed the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) architecture in the 1990s.
