Neura Robotics secures $1.4 bn funding round, boosting German robot industry

German robot manufacturer Neura Robotics announced it has raised up to $1.4 billion in a financing round. Investors include the crypto firm Tether, chip makers Qualcomm and Nvidia, e‑commerce giant Amazon, industrial suppliers Schaeffler and Bosch, and the European Investment Bank. The capital will be used to expand series production of its humanoid robots, targeting several million units by 2030 for industrial and domestic applications. Founder David Reger said the next phase of artificial intelligence will be physical, with robots that can see, hear and touch to work alongside people.

The deal marks one of the largest single‑stage fundraisings for a German startup and highlights the country’s limited domestic venture‑capital pool. Apart from a few German firms, the bulk of the money came from US technology giants, underscoring the reliance of German high‑tech companies on foreign financing to scale ambitious AI and robotics projects.
