Neurologists call for systemic brain health strategy in Poland

Neurologists in Poland are calling for a systemic national strategy to address brain diseases. Experts, including Professor Alina Kułakowska, President of the Polish Neurological Society, emphasize the need for improved prevention, faster diagnostics, better treatment coordination, and the creation of a National Neurological Network. To promote healthy habits, the society has collaborated with cardiology and oncology associations to develop the ‘10 Commandments of Health’ for disease prevention.

In a separate medical development, researchers at the Medical University of Gdańsk are working on an innovative therapy for multiple sclerosis. Unlike current treatments that primarily focus on suppressing the immune system, this new approach uses the molecule CF₃-7α,25-OHC to both reduce inflammation and stimulate the repair of myelin in the nervous system. The project is moving from laboratory research toward clinical applications with support from the Czech investment fund LIFE bioCEEd, which will assist in preparing the technology for human testing and regulatory compliance.
