Health experts share lifestyle advice for longevity and brain health

Medical experts are providing guidance on lifestyle habits to promote longevity and cognitive health. Professor Silvio Garattini emphasizes that there is no single miracle food for longevity; instead, he suggests focusing on quantity rather than specific trends like kefir. Key recommendations include maintaining social relationships, keeping the brain active to prevent cognitive decline, and ensuring seven to eight hours of sleep per night to allow the body to eliminate waste.

Garattini also advises limiting smartphone use immediately upon waking or before sleep to protect concentration. Regarding hydration, he recommends consuming between one and one and a half liters of water daily to avoid overworking the kidneys.

Complementing these views, neurosurgeon Christian Brogna of the Paideia Clinic suggests that students and adults can support attention and memory through regular movement, balanced nutrition, and active study methods. Brogna notes that avoiding excessive sugar and ultra-processed foods, alongside regular physical activity like walking or cycling, creates optimal conditions for learning and mental recovery.
