Neurosurgeon killed in Telangana car crash and fire

A 50-year-old neurosurgeon, identified as Dr. K. Kasakurti Jagadish, died Sunday morning after his Volvo car crashed into a road divider and caught fire on the Hyderabad-Khammam highway in Telangana’s Suryapet district.

The accident occurred around 7:15 am near the Pillalamarri flyover. CCTV footage reportedly shows the vehicle veering across multiple lanes before striking the divider, which immediately triggered a massive fire. The vehicle was completely gutted before fire services could reach the scene, trapping the doctor inside.

Dr. Jagadish was a senior neurosurgeon at Mamata Hospital in Khammam and was reportedly traveling to Hyderabad to visit his family. While police are investigating the exact cause, preliminary theories suggest the driver may have been drowsy at the wheel. Forensic teams have collected remains for examination, and a formal investigation is underway.
