Central Europe weather shifts from mild autumn sun to rain and wind
Central Europe is experiencing a transition in autumn weather patterns. Many regions are starting the week with a mix of sun, fog, and mild temperatures, with some areas in Austria seeing highs up to 22 degrees Celsius.
However, a significant shift is expected by mid-week. A Mediterranean low-pressure system and a disturbance zone are forecasted to bring increased cloud cover, wind, and rain across Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. In Switzerland, meteorologists predict a transition from fog to heavy precipitation, with the snow line potentially dropping to 1,500 or 1,600 meters by the end of the week.
In Germany, the Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD) anticipates a period of unsettled weather, including rain and wind, particularly in western and northern regions. The weather is expected to become increasingly unstable as low-pressure complexes move through the area, bringing a more typical wet autumn pattern.
