Neuss Garden Show Hits 265,000 Visitors at Halfway Mark
The Landesgartenschau in Neuss, held on the former horse‑racing track, has recorded about 265,000 visitors since opening in mid‑April, falling short of its overall target of 650,000 visitors for the period 16 April – 11 October. The organisers report more than 281,000 tickets sold, generating revenue of €4.73 million.
Mayor Reiner Breuer (SPD) said the new city park is being well received. The 38‑hectare site now features playgrounds, sports areas, roughly 2,200 newly planted trees, and 20,000 m² of gardens and art installations. Over 2,800 events are scheduled, nearly three times the original programme plan.
