Neuss politicians propose ‘Housing First’ model to combat homelessness
In Neuss, Germany, the SPD and CDU political factions have jointly submitted a motion to the Social and Inclusion Committee to implement the ‘Housing First’ model to combat homelessness.
The ‘Housing First’ approach prioritizes providing individuals with permanent housing without preconditions. Once stable housing is secured, residents can then access additional support services such as counseling, healthcare, and addiction therapy. The city administration has been tasked with developing a comprehensive implementation concept that integrates existing emergency housing structures.
