Neuss unveils 55-million-euro IHK Campus Zukunft design
The IHK Mittlerer Niederrhein and the city of Neuss have unveiled the winning design for the ‘Campus Zukunft’ project at Wendersplatz. The 55-million-euro development, designed by the Berlin-based firm Thomas Müller Ivan Reimann Architekten mbH, won an architectural competition that saw 35 firms submit proposals.
Scheduled to begin in 2029, the 4,000-square-meter facility is intended to serve as a flexible educational and professional hub. The design emphasizes sustainability and openness, featuring a transparent facade and a mix of wood, steel, and greenery.
Beyond traditional office and conference spaces, the campus will host advanced technological training facilities. These include four XR workshops for virtual machine training and three ‘Games Learn Labs’ designed to simulate technical processes, digital supply chains, and cyberattack defense.
