Neuville Leads Acropolis Rally Amid Spectator Hardship

Belgian driver Thierry Neuville maintained his overall lead in the World Rally Championship round in Greece, finishing the day 4.1 seconds ahead of France's Sébastien Ogier. Takamoto Katsuta took third place after Adrien Fourmaux fell back, while the rivalry between Neuville and Ogier intensified on the demanding Acropolis stages.

Spectators at the event complained of severe discomfort. Attendees were required to walk half an hour from the nearest metro station to a construction‑site‑like sports park, standing on a dusty slope under 40 °C heat with virtually no shade. A single kiosk sold water and soft drinks, leading to long queues, and there were no seating or shelter facilities, prompting criticism of the organizers and local authorities for inadequate preparation.
