Neuwied invests 450,000 euros in sun protection for daycare centers

The city of Neuwied has invested approximately 450,000 euros to equip all eleven of its municipal daycare centers with additional sun protection. The measure includes the installation of sun sails, awnings, pergolas, and various umbrellas to ensure children can continue to use outdoor areas during increasingly hot and sunny days.

Of the total investment, 250,000 euros were provided by the Municipal Investment Program for Climate Protection and Innovation (KIPKI). To ensure effectiveness, the city worked with an architect to assess the specific needs of each location, taking into account local conditions such as escape routes and required safety zones around play equipment.
