Neuwied to host guided historical and nature tours
The Tourist Information Neuwied is organizing three public guided tours on August 30 to highlight various aspects of the city's history and nature.
The scheduled activities include a botanical tour of the Rommersdorf Abbey gardens, which features landscapes inspired by English and French styles. An afternoon tour will focus on the city's dike system, covering flood history and protection mechanisms at the Dike Information Center.
A third tour, ‘On the Traces of Jewish Life’, will explore the history of the local Jewish community, visiting the former synagogue memorial, various ‘Stolpersteine’ (stumbling stones), and the Herrnhuter quarter.
