Nevada County launches property tax e-billing service
Nevada County has become one of the first counties in California to introduce an electronic billing option for property taxes. The service is designed to help residents manage payment deadlines and track their bills more effectively.
Property owners can enroll in the e-billing service using a unique code included in their annual secured property tax bills, which are currently being mailed. Enrolled users will receive reminder notifications before payment due dates and will have 24/7 online access to view or download PDF copies of their tax bills.
Treasurer-Tax Collector Michelle Bodley noted that the initiative responds to resident requests for more convenient access, particularly as state law requires only one paper bill to be sent annually by November 1. This single bill covers both the first and second installments, making it easy for residents to lose track of the second deadline. Those who opt into the e-billing service will continue to receive paper bills as well.
