Nevada Democratic registration edge falls to 672 voters

Nevada’s Democratic registration advantage has narrowed to just 672 active voters following significant voter-list maintenance efforts. According to the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office, the state’s active voter file decreased by 50,130 registrations between July and August, a decline of approximately 2.37%.

Of the August decline, nonpartisan registrations fell by 18,791, Democratic registrations by 14,168, and Republican registrations by 13,003. Nonpartisan voters remain the largest group in the state with 796,805 registrations, accounting for 38.64% of the active electorate. Democrats hold 27.61% of the active file, while Republicans hold 27.58%.

This recent shift follows a broader period of registration-status updates. Between January 1, 2025, and January 7, 2026, Nevada counties canceled 176,928 registrations and moved 138,367 voters to inactive status. Clark County accounted for 141,142 of those cancellations. Officials have attributed these reductions to routine voter-list maintenance processes.
