Nevada sanctuary’s disabled goat Manolito goes viral

Cuban‑born veterinarian Yaileny Selema runs Second Chance Farm, an animal sanctuary in Pahrump, Nevada. The farm’s wheelchair‑bound goat, Manolito, was featured in a TikTok video that amassed over 736,000 views in two days, sparking widespread discussion about compassion for all species.

Selema explains the daily care routine—lifting, bathing and drying Manolito to prevent skin problems—and uses the footage to challenge the belief that some animals deserve more empathy than others. The post attracted hundreds of thousands of likes, comments and shares, especially among the Cuban expatriate community, and has drawn donations that sustain the sanctuary’s over‑30 rescued animals.

Second Chance Farm operates without profit, relying on social‑media support to care for goats, horses, donkeys, pigs, cows, dogs, cats and turtles, many of them senior or chronically ill.
