Nevşehir Deaths Include Deputy Governor's Father

Several residents of Nevşehir Province and its districts—including Nevşehir merkez, Sulusaray, Derinkuyu, Ürgüp, Kozaklı and Acıgöl—were reported dead on 28 July. The notices list names such as 88‑year‑old Şazimet Yiğit, 64‑year‑old Süleyman Durmuş Şamdanlı, and other individuals from villages like Bahçeli, Küllüce and Yuva, each receiving burial after local funeral prayers.

In a separate notice, Üzeyir Öztürk, 84, the father of Nevşehir Deputy Governor Mehmet Mücahit Öztürk, passed away. A funeral prayer was held at Kuzbağı Köyü Camii, followed by burial at Kuzbağı Köyü Mezarlığı. The death was mourned by the deputy governor, his family and local community members.
