Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University hosts Korean ambassador and AI tourism partnership

South Korean Ambassador Sukjong Boo visited Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University (NEVÜ) to attend the 7th International Korean War History Teachers Congress. He highlighted the historic friendship between Turkey and South Korea and praised NEVÜ’s work in preserving Cappadocia’s natural and cultural heritage.

NEVÜ also signed a cooperation protocol with the Nevşehir Rehberler Odası (NERO) to develop an artificial‑intelligence‑supported, location‑based digital storytelling and micro‑learning system for tourist guides in Cappadocia. The 30‑month project will create a GPS‑enabled mobile app delivering instant, site‑specific training content in English, aiming to improve guides’ skills and promote sustainable tourism.

The university will handle scientific coordination, content creation, and software development, while NERO will provide guide participants and field testing. The initiative is expected to serve as a model for other cultural‑heritage destinations in Turkey.
