Nevşehir: Missing teenager found dead after week-long search
Mehmet Yılmaz, an 18-year-old resident of Gebze, Kocaeli, was found dead in the Acıgöl district of Nevşehir after being missing for approximately seven to eight days. Yılmaz had traveled to the region to visit relatives when he disappeared from his grandmother's home.
Following an extensive search involving police, gendarmerie, and AFAD teams, his body was discovered by a hunter in the İmamyeri area. The hunter reported that his dog reacted to something under a tree, leading him to find the body near what appeared to be a sofa. Authorities have sent the body for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
The disappearance has caused significant distress for the family. Yılmaz's mother, Canan Yılmaz, suffered a brain hemorrhage due to the stress of the search and remains in intensive care at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir Training and Research Hospital.
