Nevşehir University trains women entrepreneurs in English and hosts Science Café on future careers
Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University (NEVÜ) organised a 12‑week specialised English programme for members of the Ortahisar Women Cooperative. The 96‑hour course focused on tourism and gastronomy communication skills, using role‑play and real‑life dialogues. An end‑of‑course assessment showed participants improved their professional English proficiency, creating a potential model for rural development in Cappadocia.
The university’s Science Communication Office, together with Private Altınyıldız College, held a Science Café titled “Future Professions: From Dream to Career.” Moderated by Prof. Dr. Seydi Battal Gazi Karakoç, speakers from health, engineering, law, software, economics and finance discussed the impact of digitalisation, AI and lifelong learning on career paths, stressing the importance of language skills and interdisciplinary competence for today’s youth.
