Neville Wisdom, former Bahamian Minister, passes away

The Bahamas is mourning the passing of Neville Wisdom, a former Member of Parliament and Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture. Wisdom was a prominent figure in the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) and a dedicated public servant.

Prime Minister Philip Davis issued a statement expressing deep sadness, noting Wisdom’s commitment to creating opportunity and expanding access for Bahamians. The Prime Minister highlighted Wisdom’s significant impact on the nation’s sporting community, specifically his efforts to use sports to build discipline and national pride among young people.

Former Attorney General Allyson Maynard Gibson also paid tribute, describing Wisdom as a man who possessed a unique gift for identifying and developing young talent. She noted his dedication to coaching and his ability to see potential in youth, often working with them through rigorous discipline to help them achieve excellence.
