New-age beauty brands see revenue surge in India

A significant shift is occurring in the Indian beauty care market as new-age, science-based brands experience rapid revenue growth. In fiscal year 2026, several emerging companies reported doubling or tripling their sales by focusing on specific consumer needs and influencer-led social media marketing.

Key performers include Dot & Key, owned by Nykaa, which reached 799 crore rupees in revenue, and Foxtale, which saw its operating revenue double to approximately 383 crore rupees. Innovist, recently acquired by L'Oreal, reported revenue of 686 crore rupees, while Pilgrim saw a 69 percent increase to 690 crore rupees. Deconstruct also recorded a 32 percent growth, reaching 168 crore rupees.

In contrast, older direct-to-consumer brands are facing stagnation. Companies such as Sugar Cosmetics, Mamaearth, and Wow Skin Science are struggling to maintain momentum. Analysts suggest that a lack of innovation in product lines has allowed newer competitors to capture market share from established players.
