New aged single malt releases from Ardbeg and Benromach
Two prominent Scotch whisky distilleries have expanded their core ranges with new aged expressions.
Ardbeg has introduced the Trudernish 15 Year Old, named after a former settlement on Islay's east coast. This single malt is produced from heavily peated barley (55 ppm) and matured in a combination of ex-bourbon, Oloroso sherry, and virgin oak casks. It is bottled at 48.8% ABV without added color or chill-filtration.
Benromach Distillery has added a 25-year-old single malt to its core range, serving as a new flagship following its previous 21-year-old expression. The whisky is crafted from lightly peated barley (12 ppm) and aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and uncolored.
