New ambulances deployed in Cabo San Lucas and San Juan de la Costa
Emergency medical services are being bolstered in Cabo San Lucas and San Juan de la Costa through the acquisition of new ambulances.
In Cabo San Lucas, the Fire Department received a new ambulance donated by the organization One World Medics. This addition follows a six-month period where the department lacked operational units, forcing them to rely on fire trucks for medical calls. Commander Juan Carbajal Figueroa noted that the demand for prehospital services has exceeded the capacity of fire trucks. Additionally, the Puyallup Extrication Team donated a water truck with a 13,000-liter capacity to support operations.
In San Juan de la Costa, Chile, the municipality inaugurated a new basic emergency ambulance to improve healthcare and patient transport in rural areas with connectivity challenges. The vehicle, costing over 154 million pesos, was funded by the Los Lagos Regional Government through the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR). Local authorities, including Regional Governor Alejandro Santana Tirachini and Mayor José Luis Muñoz Uribe, attended the inauguration ceremony.
