Japan's Summer 2026 Anime Season Introduces Two New Series

Two new television anime are set to debut in Japan during the summer 2026 season. The first, "World Is Dancing," adapts Michihito Mihara’s historical manga and follows the curious boy Oniyasha in a tumultuous 14th‑century setting. Directed by Kuroyanagi Toshimasa with animation by Cypic, the series will air from July 2 on TOKYO MX, BS‑Asahi and other regional networks, with streaming on Prime Video, ABEMA and multiple Japanese platforms.

The second series, "Uchi no Otōto‑domo ga Sumimasen," is based on Akira Ozaki’s popular shōjo manga and follows high‑school girl Itō as she becomes the step‑sister to four brothers. Directed by Nanba Nichitoshi and animated by Lay‑duce, it launches on July 3 on TOKYO MX and several local stations, also streaming on dAnime Store and ABEMA. Both projects feature notable voice casts and tie‑in music themes.
