New Argentine Play 'Bajo la tormenta' Debuts Free in La Plata

The comedy troupe La Comedia de la Provincia staged the original play “Bajo la tormenta” at the Sala Armando Discépolo in La Plata. Written by M. López Repetto and directed by Toni Lorenzo and César Barella, the production runs on Saturdays at 21:00 and Sundays at 20:00 with free admission.

The drama follows former high‑school classmates reunited at a country house, where the discovery of an old chest containing twenty‑five‑year‑old letters unravels hidden secrets and reshapes their relationships. The team created all visual and musical elements from scratch, aiming for a balance between comedy and deeper emotional moments.

Organisers highlighted the play’s focus on how past experiences linger and re‑emerge, influencing the characters’ present lives.
