New arrest in Antalya mayor corruption investigation

Turkish anti‑corruption prosecutors continued their probe of the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality by arresting T. G., the official responsible for the municipality's Youth Center. Police from the Antalya Police Department's Organized Crime Unit detained him at a hotel in Marmaris, where he was on vacation, and transferred him to the Antalya police station for questioning.

During the operation, investigators searched the Youth Center in Atatürk Park and seized computers, security‑camera recordings, hard drives and several official documents. The investigation, overseen by the Antalya Public Prosecutor's Office, had previously led to the detention of Mayor Muhittin Böcek and his former wife Z. K. Böcek was briefly jailed and later placed under house arrest, while Z. K. was released with travel restrictions. The latest arrest adds another layer to the ongoing corruption case targeting municipal officials.
