New art exhibitions open in Brazil
Several new art exhibitions have launched in Brazil. At Claraboia, artist Gi Monteiro is presenting ‘Umbra’, an exhibition featuring paintings, drawings, ceramics, and installations. The work explores the concept of ‘liquid memory’ and the relationship between underground waters and rainfall, inspired by the urban history of Fortaleza where submerged watercourses reappear during heavy rains.
Simultaneously, the Museu Inimá de Paula has opened three concurrent exhibitions: ‘José Adário – Raiz de ferro’, ‘Aldir Mendes – Geometrias do olhar’, and ‘Arte em grandes formatos’. The José Adário exhibition marks the blacksmith's first solo show in Minas Gerais, showcasing nearly 30 iron works linked to Candomblé traditions. The Aldir Mendes exhibition features approximately 30 paintings focused on the relationship between color and geometry, while the large-format show includes works by Luiz Zerbini, Lauren Quin, and Tomie Ohtake. These exhibitions are scheduled to run until January 24, 2027.
