New art exhibitions open in Florianópolis and Lisbon

Two distinct art exhibitions have been announced in Florianópolis and Lisbon.

In Florianópolis, artist Maria Luiza Mazzetto presents “O Cordão e o Pedúnculo” at the Fundação Cultural Badesc. The exhibition features 11 works, including drawings, photography, and stop-motion animations, exploring the intersections between nature, the human body, and biological fiction. The collection examines themes of transformation, decomposition, and the tension between beauty and risk.

In Lisbon, visual artist Maria Caroço inaugurates the exhibition “OCUPAÇÃO” at Atmosfera M. Curated by Brazilian Sabrina Stephanou, the show focuses on textile art, installations, and illustrations using recovered materials. The exhibition emphasizes the artistic process and the continuous transformation of materials over time.
