New assistance hotlines launched in Haiti and Vietnam

Haiti has launched ‘Allô sage-femme’, a free telephone platform (8177) dedicated to sexual and reproductive health. The service provides information and guidance on contraception, pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal care. It specifically targets youth and individuals facing barriers to healthcare, such as financial constraints, social taboos, or geographic isolation. The platform also assists victims of gender-based violence by directing them to medical, psychosocial, or protection services with their consent.

In Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City has introduced the 1022 assistance line, available 24/7. This hotline is designed to report cases of child abuse, maltreatment, illegal labor, and violence against women. The system aims to accelerate response times by classifying reports geographically and transferring them to the nearest responsible unit within five minutes. While urgent cases trigger immediate intervention, non-emergency reports are processed within a maximum of three working days.
