New autonomous robots unveiled for security and delivery

Two robotics companies have unveiled new autonomous prototypes designed for specialized industrial and urban tasks.

Estonia-based Rollo Robotics introduced 1ROLLO, a monowheel security robot designed for patrolling industrial sites, airports, and campuses. The prototype utilizes a vertically mounted internal flywheel to maintain balance and can reach speeds of 30 km/h. Equipped with 360-degree computer vision and RTK-GNSS positioning, the robot identifies unusual activity and alerts remote human operators for decision-making. Commercial availability via a subscription model is planned for 2027.

Robot.com has unveiled R-dog, a four-legged concept robot aimed at last-mile delivery and interactive advertising. Designed to navigate obstacles like stairs and curbs that impede wheeled robots, R-dog features an onboard compartment for multiple payloads, such as food and e-commerce parcels. The platform will utilize Robot.com’s REMI fleet management system and FieldAI’s foundation models for autonomy, while also integrating an advertising suite known as R-ads.
