New Azerbaijan Party expels Ramiz Mehdiyev

The New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) has officially decided to expel Ramiz Mehdiyev from its ranks. Following a meeting of the party's Board, a unanimous decision was reached to remove him from membership.

Party leadership, including Deputy Chairman and Head of the Central Apparatus Tahir Budagov, noted that the decision follows numerous appeals and significant public resonance. Board members cited allegations involving treason, illegal attempts to seize power, and other criminal acts as reasons why Mehdiyev no longer possesses the moral or political right to represent the party.

Additionally, the party has proposed that Mehdiyev be stripped of all state awards, recommending that the relevant authorities initiate the process to revoke his honors.
