New Balance launches SuperComp Rebel v1 running shoe
New Balance has released the SuperComp Rebel v1, a new running shoe designed to bridge the gap between the lightweight Rebel series and the high-performance SC Elite racing models. The shoe functions as a ‘supertrainer,’ intended to bring race-day speed to daily training sessions.
Key technical specifications include a high stack height featuring 40 mm of Infinion super-critical ATPU foam at the heel and 36 mm at the forefoot, resulting in a 4 mm drop. The construction utilizes an Energy Arc, carbon-infused plate rather than a full carbon plate, and a pronounced rocker geometry to assist with momentum. Weighing between 207 and 218 grams depending on size, the model is designed for versatility, supporting daily runs, tempo workouts, and long-distance training, and may even serve as a racing shoe for half-marathons or marathons for certain runners.
