New Balance updates 2010 sneaker with Gore-Tex waterproofing

New Balance has updated its 2010 sneaker model with a Gore-Tex membrane, transforming the retro-style “dad sneaker” into a weather-ready option for daily use. The addition of the waterproof membrane is designed to keep rain and moisture out while allowing sweat vapor to escape, making the shoe more suitable for autumn and wet commutes than standard mesh versions.

The new iteration features a “Light Mushroom” colorway consisting of earthy tones such as brown, beige, and olive. Despite the technical upgrade, the shoe retains its original silhouette and ABZORB cushioning for all-day comfort. This release represents a trend of integrating performance materials into lifestyle footwear, bridging the gap between fashion-led design and commuter practicality.
