New Basic Life Support Ambulance Deployed in Ólvega, Spain

The Health Emergencies Management of the Junta of Castilla y León has placed a new basic life‑support ambulance (SVB) in the Ólvega health zone, covering more than 4,200 assigned health cards. The vehicle arrived after a delayed delivery but before the contractual deadline set for the provider, Dirección de Salud. Local officials—including territorial delegate Yolanda de Gregorio, mayor Elia Jiménez, health authorities and Diputación president Benito Serrano—inspected the ambulance at the Ólvega Health Centre, where it will be based.

The ambulance will host a technician and a driver who will work 24‑hour shifts. Facilities for rest and a small living area were installed at the centre, along with a stretcher and a table for the first day of operation. The Ólvega Basic Health Zone, the fourth most populated rural area in Soria, recorded 392 emergency calls last year, averaging 1.1 calls per day and treating 391 patients. The new resource aims to improve response times and bring emergency services closer to residents of this largely rural region.
