New book chronicles the history of the Italian ceramics industry

The book ‘La ceramica mai raccontata’ by Gabriele and Andrea Bassanetti is scheduled for release on September 10 through Incontri Editrice. The work provides a collective history of the ceramic industry, focusing on the workers—including technicians, chemists, mechanics, and creatives—who built the sector in regions such as Sassuolo and Faenza.

Rather than focusing solely on industrial entrepreneurs, the book utilizes interviews to document the daily labor, technological advancements, and personal anecdotes of those who contributed to the global reach of Italian tiles. An early presentation of the book will take place on September 5 at the ‘Argillà Italia’ event in Faenza, with subsequent presentations planned for Sassuolo in October and Fiorano Modenese in November.
