New books launched in Chile focusing on regional history and technical education

Two new books were recently presented in Chile, highlighting regional identity and educational leadership.

In the Maule Region, author Matía Irene Vallejos Muñoz launched “Antonio vuelve al Ramal” at the Teatro Regional del Maule. The book focuses on the Talca–Constitución railway, which is the last narrow-gauge railway currently operating in Chile. The author expressed her desire for the work to reach schools and libraries nationwide to preserve the history of this unique transport link.

In the Los Ríos Region, the book “Liderazgos que inspiran. Historias de vocación y compromiso con la Educación Media Técnico Profesional de la Región de Los Ríos” was presented at the Universidad Austral de Chile. Co-authored by Ana María Muñoz, Jorge Camilo Ríos, and Lorena Angulo, the text documents the experiences and leadership of directors within technical-professional secondary education. The project aims to provide regional educational memory and support for new leaders in the sector.
