New British crime dramas 'Benidorm Is Murder' and 'The Chelsea Detective' launch to fans

Channel 5’s new series Benidorm Is Murder debuted with its first episode, starring John Hannah as ex‑cop‑turned‑landlord Dennis Crown who resumes investigations after tourists die on the Spanish coast. The show airs weekly, with the second episode released on 6 August and a six‑episode first season planned.

Acorn TV released season four of The Chelsea Detective, featuring Adrian Scarborough as DI Max Arnold, a houseboat‑living detective solving murders in London’s affluent Chelsea neighbourhood. The season, praised as an “excellent” alternative to Beyond Paradise, consists of three feature‑length episodes released weekly from 3 August. Co‑stars include Vanessa Emme as DS Layla Walsh and Peter Bankole as DC Connor Pollock.
