Two new cafe establishments have opened in the Ibaraki and Miyagi regions of Japan, offering unique local experiences.

In Chikusei City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Cafe ‘SORA’ provides a dog-friendly environment featuring a large dog run with views of Mount Tsukuba. While dogs are not permitted inside the main building, they are welcome on the deck seating area. The cafe serves Saza Coffee beans prepared via siphon and offers lunch options including pasta and homemade bread made with locally grown vegetables. Special menus and birthday cakes for dogs are also available.

In Shiroishi City, Miyagi Prefecture, cafe ‘Gonto Sora’ has opened adjacent to the So-zin kiln. The cafe features ceramic work from local potter Yasuhiro Takeda, including coffee cups and washbasin pieces. The establishment is noted for its large windows that offer views of autumn foliage near Shiroishi Castle.
