New Canaan businesses mark milestones in dining and local cinema

New Canaan is seeing growth in its local dining and entertainment sectors. The Italian restaurant Doppio is celebrating its first year of operation on Main Street. Owners Joseph and Louis Barresi have focused on transforming the longtime restaurant space, which includes the addition of a popular outdoor patio and a menu that emphasizes fresh, often imported ingredients with occasional non-traditional specials.

Additionally, the Morning Movie Club is entering its third season at the New Canaan Playhouse. Founded by Kerry Anderson and Michelle Howe, the club offers first-run films on Tuesday mornings without previews. The club has grown to nearly 100 members, attracting attendees from surrounding areas like Greenwich seeking a streamlined cinema experience.
