New cancer support and care facilities open in Laval and Marseille

New specialized facilities have opened to support cancer patients and their families in Laval, Canada, and Marseille, France.

In Laval, Santé Québec Laval inaugurated ‘Cycle’, a free resource located at the Centre intégré de cancérologie de Laval (CICL). Developed through consultations with over 4,000 former patients, the center provides listening, information, and support. Users can interact with volunteer partners who have personal experience with cancer. The facility operates without the need for appointments.

In Marseille, the association Sourire à la vie is opening a day hospital at the Château Sourire in Sainte-Marthe on November 2. Following authorization from the ARS Paca, the facility will provide Medical and Rehabilitation Care (SMR) for up to 15 children with cancer. The center aims to transition children from acute hospital settings, such as La Timone, to a medicalized holiday environment that combines clinical care with outdoor activities, sports, and social interaction.
