CEPOSAMI provides 22,000 mental health services in its first year

The State of Puebla Mental Health Integral Center (CEPOSAMI) has reached a milestone of 22,000 services provided to children, adolescents, and their families during its first year of operation. Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier and Ceci Arellano, honorary president of SEDIF, reviewed the facility, noting its evolution from a former government residence into a specialized medical center.

Since its inauguration in September 2025, the center has expanded its capacity from 14 to 24 consultation rooms and increased its medical staff from 36 to 69 professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and nurses. The facility now operates seven days a week. Beyond direct clinical care, the program has conducted training sessions across 152 municipalities to promote mental health awareness.

In other regional developments, the government of Ensenada is providing free psychological services through municipal medical dispensaries to support low-income residents. Additionally, a new Child Assistance Center is being developed to provide comprehensive care, including specialized areas for adolescents and infants in vulnerable situations. In Sancti Spíritus, authorities are finalizing a temporary shelter designed to provide urgent protection and socio-emotional support for minors in emergency or abandonment situations.
