New childcare facilities open in Marinilla and Yerba Buena
New early childhood care facilities have been inaugurated in Marinilla, Colombia, and Yerba Buena, Argentina, to support vulnerable children.
In Marinilla, the local government launched Casa Nido, a center designed to provide comprehensive care for 100 children aged 6 months to 5 years. With an investment of over 827 million pesos, the facility offers nutrition, psychological support, pedagogical accompaniment, and protection services. The center aims to complement the services provided by the Colombian Family Welfare Institute (ICBF) to expand access for local families.
In Yerba Buena, Governor Osvaldo Jaldo inaugurated a new annex of the Institute of Childcare. The facility will host children aged 0 to 2 who are under state guardianship. The center features specialized infrastructure, including kitchens and sanitary facilities, and operates through a coordinated effort between social development, health, and security sectors to support children without temporary family care.
