New Clark City sees major digital infrastructure and manufacturing approvals

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has approved 19 strategic facilities projects in New Clark City to bolster the nation’s digital infrastructure. A major component of this approval is a PHP32.544-billion project by ENDEC Development Corp., which will serve as the first phase of a 300-megawatt hyperscale data center. This project, registered under Narra Technology Park Development Inc., is designed to meet the needs of hyperscalers through sustainable technologies that minimize power and water consumption.

Separately, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) clarified the scope of the Pax Silica project in New Clark City, stating it will focus on advanced manufacturing rather than AI data centers. The hub is intended to produce hardware and equipment for AI systems, supporting the broader AI supply chain. The DTI noted that data centers will be situated in other regions with more robust power and water supplies. To ensure sustainability, developers are required to be self-reliant in managing infrastructure such as roads, power, and water without government funding.
