New coffee shops to open in Nagoya and Tokyo

Several new coffee establishments are scheduled to open in Japan through late 2026.

In Nagoya, the cafe Mutsuaraboshi is set to open in early September at the former site of Kitabayashi Coffee in the Chikusa Ward. The all-day dining establishment will feature a starry sky projection inside the cafe and a menu centered on rare Wagyu beef and smoked meat dishes.

In Tokyo, specialty coffee retailer Sarutahiko Coffee will open a new location within the Imperial Palace East Garden on November 3, 2026. Located in the Ote Rest Area, the shop will offer 46 seats and 10 standing spots, serving specialty coffee to visitors of the garden and the Imperial Palace Sannomaru Shozokan Museum.
