New commercial developments announced in Cuenca and San Isidro
Plaza Santa Cecilia has officially opened in the El Cebollar sector of Cuenca, Ecuador. Located on Abelardo J. Andrade and Isaac Newton avenues, the complex features a supermarket as its anchor tenant alongside 10 commercial spaces, including a pharmacy, gym, dining options, and children's recreational areas. The project, led by the Barahona family, includes parking for over 150 vehicles and operates from 08:00 to 23:00.
In Peru, Mallplaza is planning a new Tier A mixed-use development in San Isidro. The project will be located on Las Begonias street, occupying the site where Falabella and Tottus currently operate. While the exact dimensions and investment figures are still being finalized, the company is evaluating the inclusion of educational, medical, or office spaces. The planning and licensing phase is expected to continue through 2027 before construction begins.
